Case Worker

Foundations Care is a not for profit organisation, providing a variety of family support services with experienced and professional staff. Foundations Care prides itself on being child-focused in its operations, with particular attention placed on each child’s emotional and developmental needs, as well as the overall needs of families. Foundations Care provides a number of Specialist and General Foster Care and Child Protection services in WA.

Position

Foundations Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Case Worker for the East Kimberley region (Kununurra ).The primary purpose of this position is to support carers; to assist them with supporting children and young people to be safe and achieve their individual goals and objectives. We aim to assist carers; through support, education and training; to provide children and young people in their care with safety, access to social and educational opportunities, community access, daily living skill development and increased physical / psychological wellbeing. This is a permanent part time position.

Skills and Experience

Demonstrated significant knowledge and experience relevant to the delivery of service including;

• relevant case work experience
• well-developed casework and group facilitation skills
• experience working with indigenous and culturally diverse families and communities and
• experience in the engagement, assessment and intervention with children and relevant stakeholders

Demonstrated commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people using a valuing and strengths based approach.

Demonstrated skills in leading a large team and the ability to work with minimal direction.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including debriefing, conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, public speaking, promotional communication and reporting writing.

The Case Worker will either:

• have completed or is currently completing a relevant diploma or tertiary qualification; or
• have a less formal qualification with substantial years of relevant experience and specialized knowledge and skills sufficient to perform the role
